چکیده

Abstract Background Metastases to the bones are a frequent location of metastasis in advanced breast cancer and responsible for substantial morbidity healthcare expenses. Imaging has been crucial directing patient therapy decades, contributing staging response evaluation skeleton. This research aimed assess diagnostic value whole-body magnetic resonance imaging with diffusion-weighted added radionuclide bone scans early diagnosis metastases patients. Results The study was prospective observational cohort performed on 20 patients suspected metastases. were evaluated first by obtaining detailed personal history. Laboratory tests, including CBC, liver, kidney function tests assessed. All examined MRI (DWIBS; background body signal suppression) images scintigraphy after intravenous injection mci technetium-99m ( 99m Tc) methylene diphosphonate using dual head gamma camera. total number lesions detected scan 74, 75 seen DWIBS. Twenty-four missed Fourteen found free DWIBS examination spine pelvic bones. Conclusions Whole seems be promising method detecting from that could used complementary traditional more accurate tumor, helping determine most appropriate protocol management.

The Role of Bone Marrow Aspiration and Bone Marrow Biopsy in Diagnosis of Bone Marrow Metastases

Background: Bone marrow is the site of many malignant disorders and it is one of the common places for solid tumors to metastasize. Examination of the bone marrow aspirate and biopsy is a routine procedure performed for assessment of various conditions such as cytopenias, hematologic neoplasms, nonmalignant disorders and metastatic neoplasms. Methods: The patients were referred to the Hema...

Application of whole-body diffusion-weighted MRI (WB-DWI) in diagnosis of bone metastases from lung cancer

Objective: In view of the characteristics of Whole-Body Diffusion-Weighted MRI (WB-DWI) and the difficulties in the diagnosis of bone metastases from lung cancer, our study aimed to explore the possible application of WB-DWI in diagnosis of bone metastases from lung cancer. Methods: 70 patients with lung cancer were selected in our hospital from August 2012 to June 2014. All the patients were s...

Application of diffusion weighted imaging in the diagnosis of bone metastases from lung cancer

Objective: To investigate the application of background inhibition of fast systemic magnetic resonance diffusion imaging (DWI) in bone metastasis of lung cancer. Methods: Fifty healthy volunteers and 57 patients with lung cancer diagnosed by pathology were examined by WB-DWI, and reconstructed by 3D-MIP and black-and-white flip-flop. The skeletal system was divided into 8 regions, and the numbe...

99mTc-MDP whole body bone scan in a case of acute disseminated melioidosis

Melioidosis is a potentially fatal infectious disease occurring predominantly in the tropics, caused by a Gram-negative, motile, rod shaped obligatory aerobic non-spore forming bacillus, Burkholderia pseudomallei. It can produce localised or disseminated disease largely affecting immunocompromised patients. It is a challenge to identify melioidosis early as this disease can manipulate host’s ce...
